checkmark point Use rugs and mats in high traffic areas (use felt backed mats not coarse backed or open weaved).
checkmark point Cleaning your floor with static dust brooms/mops will assist in minimising grit in high traffic areas, which can help prevent scratching. DO NOT USE STEAM MOPS! Steam may introduce moisture to the timber.
checkmark point Always use a floor cleaner designed for timber floors. Beware of supermarket products that contain silicone, oils and waxes, as these can cause problems with re-coating. Our operators can advise you about recommended products.
checkmark point Avoid using harsh detergents and abrasive cleaners as these may scratch or dull your floor.
checkmark point Minimise direct sunlight on the floor as it will discolour over time. Try to avoid this effect by filtering direct sunlight with netting, curtains or blinds.
checkmark point Place felt or other soft protection pads on the feet of chairs and to the bases of furniture. Frequently moved items should be properly lifted and placed.

checkmark point When moving furniture always lift and place on to the floor where possible. NEVER drag or slide furniture even if pads are fitted to the base as this may create unnecessary wear.

checkmark point Slide any furniture across your timber floors.

checkmark point Wear high heeled shoes on your timber floors.
